“I am sometimes tempted to take a Class and train you to visualize and show you what a good time you could have. But the reason I hesitate is because it would become so popular that people would surge into this Activity just for money, and I would not open the Activity to that. It would wreck you if I did. I can teach you to produce manifestations. You can all have an abundance of every good thing in the outer; but if you are going to let yourselves become fastened to the powers that you are using, you will again forget the “I AM Presence” and go the way you have gone before.
I am determined this time to keep the door locked against the fascination of phenomena, against the fascination and pull of physical things. Otherwise, I could take you, and in a week’s time, let you, by your own visualized picture – your own feeling of Love to that Picture – draw into the outer manifestation that which would make you so astonished, you could scarcely believe.
Mankind has had these powers before, and they became more entertained using the powers than they were loving the “Presence” or trying to fulfill Its Divine Plan. And this time I am not going to let you endanger yourselves, so We will put the phenomena where it isn’t going to hold the attention to the point where you forget the “Presence”. The person who isn’t concerned about anything except standing at attention to the “Presence”, sending Love and Gratitude there, demanding that It fill the outer self, will demand that Its Divine Plan be outpictured and everything in the outer is used only to fulfill that Divine Plan.
As soon as you are happy not to use the things of the outer just for amusement or entertainment or just to gratify the slightest feeling of doing as you please, then you will be content to use everything in serving the “Presence”. You will enjoy loving the “Presence”, and loving to give Obedience to It; then Obedience will not be difficult for you. It will be as natural as breathing.
Until you understand this and conquer the outer feeling, Precious Ones, you may solve problems today – you may be able to pay your bills, get a little reserve, you know; and then you begin to feel very secure on that money; and you would again, the next time that was swept away, feel that panicky feeling of fear.
With the Life of the Creator of the Universe in your Heart, you would fear that the outer self was not going to eat. Now you have to one day conquer that thing. This outer self has to be put in its place and told you are not concerned whether it eats or does not eat, or whether it ever again gets what it wants. You are concerned with loving that “Presence” and giving the Obedience which enables this to become Perfect out here.
Precious Ones, you do not know how much power you give to money until suddenly it is all swept away. And then the outer self is just panic-stricken with fear. When you lose your pocketbook, what is the feeling? I do not want you to lose it, and I do not want you to have that feeling; but why is the outer self so panicky? Because it loves the money more than it does God. Now that is the plain truth, because if you love the “Presence” enough and something happens to the outer, you would continue to love that “Presence” and say, “’Mighty I AM Presence’, forgive me for not obeying You, but You take care of me! You see that I have something as good and a thousand times better come to take its place, and do not let a thing but a ripple of Your Love be in me!”
That is the only thing that will make you master of the outer world. It is the only thing which will open the Floodgates to the Limitless to you. You have to become indifferent as to whether the outer self is always going to get everything it wants or not. When it begins to torment you with this, that, and the other thing, and use up all of your energy which you need, and you do not have the time to go back to your “Presence”, it is time to wring its neck and say, “You go back there, where you belong!”
Precious Ones, I want you to be free from this thing because it will disturb you periodically, until you do conquer it. You may have to go through it or not, just depending on your determination to conquer it. Supposing everything were swept away, physically speaking, in the outer that you require. So long as your “Presence” leaves you here with your Heart beating, It has a Purpose and a Divine Plan to be fulfilled through you, or It would take you into the next Octave. So long as It leaves you here, It is willing to provide food, clothing, Life, or whatever you require.”
